A Check In
It’s been a minute since the last post. I have been keeping myself busy. I was having trouble structuring my day and decided on a change. Picked up some part time hours to supplement my studio time. A week in, and the results have been what I was hoping for. More focus and better time management. The couple extra bucks in my pocket is a nice bonus.
I have also made it a priority to have more small pieces and prints that I can get into more people’s hands. The studio’s limited time being open to the public has put a dent in my ability to get more art on more walls. To try to rectify that, I have gotten back into block carving and printing. It was something I really enjoyed doing during my limited art training. I have completed a couple bird prints. hand stamped, numbered, and signed. The first day having them available resulted in a few sales! This is something I am definitely going to continue.
I finished “Pearl” this week. She is glorious and might be my best/favorite bird portrait yet. I encourage people to find her story online by searching Pearl albino raven. A beautiful creature who met a tragic ending. I created this painting with a specific showing in mind. I’ll announce that when it becomes official.
I will be at Scrambled Gallery in New Hope,PA again on Friday, September 29th for a “Meet the Artist” event. I look forward to that one!
The Phoenixville Art Walk is fast approaching and I am more and more excited for it. It is a very cool thing to be a part of the beginning of something and try to build it for years to come. It will be Sunday October 1st. The deets are on my EVENTS page.
Until next time!
